Bird Watching Group

photoThis Group was established in late 2013 and is now becoming a regular feature of the programme.

Its aim simply is to watch birds through out the year which means that we shall 'follow the birds'.

Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month. It is intended that there will be two types of meeting; some will be half days out and the following meeting will be a full day out. In both cases stout footwear and good protective clothing will be required plus binoculars and bird recognition books.

The half days are likely to be spent locally in parks and open spaces while the full days out will be travel to further afield where specific species are likely to be found or where we are unable to see these species locally. The full days are more likely to be during the winter months following the birds migration. The aim will be to give maximum coverage to the birds found in the UK.

The meeting point for the Group is MASSC car park, normally at 9.30am unless otherwise advised.

Car owners are welcome and we appreciate those who are prepared to share their car and driving.

Details relating to the next trip will be given during the day.

A record of the Group's sightings is recorded on each trip which should provide additional interest over the years as the records develop.
